Playing Sudoku is incredibly easy. Playing to solve Sudoku correctly, is much harder. The playing grid will be pre-filled with numbers in certain cells. You may not change these numbers. For any of the other cells, simply click the cell to highlight it, and type a number from 1 to 9. Congratulations! That was the easy part. Now, of course, you must consider the harder part. Each row, each column, and each of the nine 3x3 sub-grids must contain one, and only one, occurrence of each of the numbers from 1 to 9.
You may also navigate the grid by using the arrow keys. Use the mouse to click a "starting" cell, and from then on, the arrow keys can be used to move around.
Difficulty allows you to choose how hard you want to work your brain. Hopefully, the levels are self explanatory, but in case you're having trouble deciphering, the mode at the top is the easiest, and the mode at the bottom is the hardest. (I'll let you make an educated guess as to the level of difficulty of the mode in the middle).
Restart clears the board, while leaving only the 'locked' cells with their original values.
Check takes a peek at what you've done so far. If you've incorrectly filled in one of the cells, an e-mail will be sent to each of your neighbors telling them how poorly you're doing. Actually, that feature is scheduled for a future version of this puzzle. For now, all that will happen is an 'X' will be placed on any cell with an incorrect value.
Solve frees up your time, so you can go chat with those neighbors mentioned above.
PDF creates a PDF version (for easy printing) of the puzzle for the currently selected difficulty level. It will be an 'empty' puzzle, in that it will not have any values you have filled in so far.
PDF 3 creates a PDF version of all 3 difficulty levels on one page.
Can't get enough Sudoku? The navigation buttons underneath the puzzle allow you to go back in time and do the puzzles from the archives.
